I get you but if something I have learnt over time is that NG is one of the most aggressive enviorements I have ever seen (excluding what would be the professional criticism), and those "lololo itz crap!!!!!!" people really can't be dialogued with.

And no, those people have no clue of what does the word "objectivity" mean

=/ Good luck on your parodies

Thank you for understanding.

dude, i must say keep doing your animations, the most important part is the script, not the animation, and that was the succes of "LOZ FSM"

huah

I agree that sprite movies take talent if they're a comedy or very good story telling style, but IMHO nowadays sprite movie fights just don't take much more than thinking up which way the character is going to use its predesigned attack and then tweening away

I steered away from sprite fights years ago. I don't work on 'em much these days.

I believe that its unique to have a sprite series like this that doesn't revolve around the destruction of its self and sprites in general. What probably makes your series so good is that its different. Its based more on story and less on useless battles.

Keep sticking with this no matter what little kids say. ;)

I didn't really think about it until just recently, but one big problem is that once regular viewers become Flash artists of whatever sort, they forget what it's like to be a regular viewer. They forget what casual watchers look for in a piece of work.

I was at GameStop the other day, and there were these guys that were OBSESSED with Brawl Taunts. As most people know, this two-part submission gets a lot of flack on the humor, originality, etc. etc., even though there are people that thoroughly enjoy it. When I asked these guys exactly what they liked most about it, they said the voice acting alone (for the most part; my effort was mediocre at best) made the characters seem believable and not just another fan-made short.

Again, this is just someone's opinion. For anyone that tries to disagree, nobody cares.

Anyway, the point I'm getting at is that people look for different things. When I first came to NG, I didn't care about art. I cared about effort, and I still do, which can include many more things than just graphics. Expecting everyone to dish out things like Metropolis Circuit, Mastermind, Brackenwood, so on and so forth is just ridiculous. There's more to things than just art.

But like I mentioned before, there are LOTS of artists around here, both excellent and aspiring to be excellent (a modest way to say 'needs lots of improvement') that forgot what regular viewers care about. As I've said, I didn't look to see how long a cartoon took to make as much as I did look for enjoyability. Many people still need to grasp what's called an 'opinion.'

What's worst, however, is the rating system. All cartoons of all sorts are pitted against each other in an all out brawl for awards and money. Of course the artists care, but then there are viewers that, pitifully enough, care as well.

As long as a parody competes with a drama that competes with a short that competes with years' worth of work, the community will remain as one of the most passionate, which is way too pretty a word, about submissions. It all stems from mindsets to just how this site works, which probably won't change anytime soon... unless Tom is reading this, which I seriously doubt ;_;

Hey Kenkaku, long time no see.

Art vs. effort... In gaming terms it's almost like saying Graphics vs. Gameplay. Everyone has their opinion over what's more important in a game, or in this case, a flash.

Thanks for expressing your constructive criticism about this topic.

oh god i cant count how many times people bring this up, seriously if you say you don't care why do you even post about it? obviously you do care otherwise it wouldn't of bugged you enough to rant about it.

why should it matter what people think anyway, you arn't here to entertain your haters. entertain your selected audience, if it's still bugging you. there's always going to be people that say sprites are gay or what not, I'll admit i'm not a fan of it anymore as i used to be but who cares, there's been loads of people who've told me my stuff is lame, but do i care? lmao i could care less. i'm doing what suits me, and if i like it that's all that matters, if other people like it aswell then that makes me feel even better. don't make things that suit other people, do it to suit yourself.

btw, this is blordow. for some reason i'm banned from posting on here. probably a post from last time. that goes to show you took it to heart when you shouldn't of. lighten up mate, try not to take shit so seriously.

Right, my apologies for banning you the last time. I did take most of the negative responses personally in the last post, but I have to learn to accept different opinions, no matter how insulting they are to an author. I unblocked your other account after reading this and I appreciate your constructive criticism over this topic.

Sprite Movies = overrated.

100% Custom Sprite Movies = underrated.

Simple enough? People see sonic or mario and Go HOLY SHIT 5!

People see a really cool original sprite character they don't say that.

sprite = own
any other kind of flash = own
hadoukendude = 10/5 lol keep going

anyways, any date for the "4 swords misadventures 6" ? or you quit already?

I want to keep episode 6 a surprise. Only a small group of friends know about it's plot. The series will continue. Give it time.

I'm with you bro!

Animating is not about your score, or how well its done. Its about getting your point across. I don't animate to meet the demands of people over the internet, I animate because I enjoy animation.

Its the feeling of watching your creation come to life when your finished with them that makes me want to animate. The only reason I put flashes onto Newgrounds is to share my creations with other people around the world, and appreciate the creations of others!

That's what makes an animator, not what others think.

I think the same way.

Thanks for the comment

Though I don't animate myself, I've been around long enough to understand your troubles. I don't care much for what art direction an animator uses, be it sprites or hand-made. What I do love is a good story that will make me laugh, cry, or otherwise care for the characters. Your LoZ FS movies are a great example. So what if your just copying and pasting used sprites? The story you tell and the laughs you envok are enough to win me over. If people fail to see this, then I'm afraid there wouldn't be much point to Newgrounds. Instead of posting movies in a place where they can all be seen and appreciated, you might as well make a seperate site only for those who care for it.

I think the best thing, and possibly only, thing to do is ignore the haters as much as possible. You know that there are people out there who enjoy your work, and thats all you need to know.

~TwinGemini~

Do what you want; it's all good.
It don't matter if you use a sprite or a meticulously crafted painting. It don't matter if you do every detail frame by frame or tween the whole damn thing.
Let the creative juices flow even if it ends up rainin on someone elses show cuz you can't make everyone happy or make anyone but you 100% content; so do your self a favor an tell the haters to get bent.

Because humans are stupids idiots who want too force beliefs on other people

well you know how I feel about the situation.

All I look for is creativity, Be that sprites, handdrawn, 3D, whatever.

it goes for any medium, you can have lazy models with every filter turned on.
that there lacks creativity.

You can have handdrawn animation, yet every angle and face and design is purely anime, that there lacks creativity.

Same goes for sprites, if you use the sprites and rely soley on the animation within those sprites, and dont apply them in fun or interesting ways, then frankly you fail.

bleep beep boop. I am a computer.

Computers are like air conditioning.

They become useless once you open windows...

My friend, I've been a fan of your work for quite a time, and always will. You'll never get any hate from me!

And for all those who keep on hating, take all that hate youtube, or something, cuz read the damn site name properly! As H.D. clearly mentioned: "Don't you guys realize that Newgrounds is "Everything, By Everyone"? That's the point!" And is an excellent and crystal clear point! People who read this, enough is enough ok? Because this is just getting too damn ridonculous! Respect someone who does his work the way he does things. Because I respect anyone else's work the same way. Either if it's flash or sprite animations.

And H.D, keep up the kickass work, my friend, because I know I won't be the only one who would miss your work here!

translation: hey guys dont criticize me, please suck my dick when i do anything here cause i'm hardcore

Just do what you like to do and don't mind if some people don't like it.
No matter how great something is, there is always someone to hate it in a way or another.

I make flashes for fun and getting better at it, not for getting popularity or fans.

lololo itz crap!!!!!!
