It certainly was an odd ball of a show, but I liked it. Krillin's death was more of an emotional thing than a joke. The whole "joke" thing about him dying so much only stemmed recently with DBZ Abridged and other memes. Trunks was raised more by Bulma because she obviously needs someone to take the Capsule Corp. company after her.
Eh. It was silly, but overall enjoyable along with its great moments and final saga tying everything together.
Though Krillin's death was emotional and tragic, the character's constant deaths have already been an inside joke to the developers as well as to the fans of the anime way before DBZ abridged began. It was even brought up at the end of the episode when Krillin was talking to the sea turtle in Kame House.
Trunks was almost always raised by Bulma in both DBZ and GT. Vegeta did very little to raise his kid, aside from training with him on occasion. Trunks just didn't share his father's character traits as much as his future Trunks persona during the Cell Saga when Gohan died in his alternate future.
But yes, the show was silly. The charm of Dragonball was its sense of humor no matter what version it is.
Dragon Ball Z Kai sucks.
Personally I'd have agreed with GT is a mix bag when compared to the rest (and better) Dragon ball series and sure there are more cons than pros about GT but still ended up being a decent series closer after 10 and half years
The reason why the transformation is probably in a lot the games is because the form is REALLY popular. Even Akira Toriyama loves it, even though it was one of the designs he had no say so in. On one of the GT boxsets, Toriyama drew Goku in SSJ4 for the cover... Basically, he drew fanart of a creation for one of his own creations. *mind screw*
Just curious, what is your actual opinions of the villains. I personally thought that Super 17 was kind of a lame villain, but I liked Baby and Syn/Omega Shenron. My favorite villain of that series was Nouva Shenron personally though, but I guess he pulls a heel-face turn towards the end.

Meh... I liked GT. I didn't really care for the Baby saga, but I did like the Super 17 story. I didn't really like most of the shadow dragons. They probably could have just made the story with just Omega Shenron. I did like Nova and Ice Shenron though.
