I loved the series... and I loved the movie! What more could you expect from an LA version? I find it pretty amazing how much the real characters resemble the ones from the animation, they really managed to find real-life counterparts on everyone. The special effects are great, the plot is the same... it seems people always expect too much from LA, either it must be exactly like the anime or it has to be re-done entirely, if the movie weren't based on anything, it'd probably get a much more positive response for what it is: great entertainment!
